Joan Truckenbrod
Chicago, IL, video and installation
Joan Truckenbrod is a digital media and installation artist who has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for many years. Truckenbrod uses migrating salmon as a potent metaphor for aging and rites of passage in our own lives. Her extensively researched video pieces juxtapose the struggle of the salmon with disturbing scenes from nursing homes.
