Katherine Westerhout

A native Californian, KATHERINE WESTERHOUT first picked up a camera at the age of six or seven. As an adult, she began to focus in particular on architectural subjects, consciously exploring the qualities of light and color. Ms. Westerhout’s current large scale pigment Ink-Jet prints continue this exploration, documenting interior spaces of abandoned buildings. In these photographs, Westerhout creates dramatic images of unexpected beauty, capturing the stillness and elegance of human absence.
