Gallery Hours: Tue-Fri, 12-5:30pm; Sat, 12-4:30pm

More than seventy artists affiliated with the Kala Art Institute of Berkeley will be exhibiting their work at the Kala Gallery from December 11, 2008 through March 29, 2009. The exhibition will present a diverse array of prints, photography, video, digital media works and mixed media combinations. A reception will be held on Thursday, December 11 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The public is cordially invited to join us for our holiday-style gala reception. The Kala Artists’ Annual exhibition is generously supported with a grant from the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

On Saturday, January 31st we will be hosting an afternoon Open House in the Kala studios. The Open House is a great opportunity for the public to learn more about print media and meet artists from our community. Nearly thirty artists associated with Kala will be presenting a wide variety of works for sale.

Big news for the Kala Gallery in 2009

This year’s Artists’ Annual marks a major milestone for our organization. We are extremely proud to announce that after thirty + years at 1060 Heinz Street, the Kala Gallery is relocating to a stunning new space, in the historic Heinz Building, around the corner at 2990 San Pablo Street.  The 2008 Artists’ Annual is the final exhibition that will be presented in our current location. The new Kala Gallery space features over 2000 square feet of brightly illuminated exhibition space, high ceilings and stylish details all contained within a lovely historic building with street level accessibility. In April 2009 the Kala Gallery will open its doors onto an exciting new era in a greatly improved new facility. The current gallery on Heinz Street will be converted into new and expanded studio facilities for our artists.
