Commons Archive – HEAR HERE

Our Story

Started in 2016 through a Print Public fellowship, Commons Archive is a creative grassroots history project that builds neighbor relationships. Our goal: to empower neighbors as narrators and creators of their many histories. Started in North Oakland, our work stands on the shoulders of the long history of local community-based programs. We connect longtime and new neighbors through stories, shared resources and celebrations to build community resilience.

The HEAR HERE Community Billboard Truck, our latest community engagement action, was born during COIVD-19. Isolated neighbors were seeking safe ways to nurture belonging in their
neighborhoods. The HEAR HERE Community Billboard is the cutest, custom-built EV vintage truck on the streets! HEAR HERE meets neighbors where they are, takes media into local hands and engages the public imagination!

Your tax deductible donation, no matter the size, supports our work in creating supportive spaces for community conversations that matter.
