Born in Eibar, in the Basque region of Spain, UNAI SAN MARTIN studied at Morley College in London and Pratt Institute in New York. He is a master printer in the photogravure process, a rarefied 19th Century technique that is perfect match for his shadowy landscape images. In 2002 he won the Premio Nacional de Grabado in Madrid in addition to awards from Joan Miro Foundation in Mallorca, Spain. San Martin’s work is exhibited internationally. Unai lives and works in the Bay Area.
