“I pick apart and reconstruct and then disassemble and rebuild. Structures are dissected and the fragments are used to build new ones. Deconstructed plants, bodies and landscapes breed new life forms...”
Simona Prives creates screenprints and monoprints to be cut apart for use as collage elements, along with other physical textures and found materials. She then saves her work in digital form, and after making further digital alterations, returns the work to physical form once again as print or collage.
Prives studied printmaking at the Scuola Internazionale De Graphica in Venice, and currently teaches at Parsons School of Design and The Art Institute.
