Drawing from the rich history of those photographers who have taken to the streets, we will examine the history and the practice, putting these methodologies and ideas into effect by traveling to various locales around Berkeley in addition to photographing onsite. You will learn shooting techniques such as body position, rapid reaction, shot preparation, as well as how to choose which shooting mode to use in different situations.
Born in Springfield, Missouri, Josh Smith relocated to the bay area in 2004 to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. Currently living in Pacifica, Ca., and teaching High School photography at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Ca., Smith has exhibited widely within the bay area and beyond. Recent Exhibitions include Intersection at the 21 Grand gallery in Oakland, Ca., San Francisco Meets Regensberg at Kino Akademiesalon Theater in Regensberg, Germany, and Various Photographs at the New York Photo Festival.
