Class #60 Saturday-Sunday, June 30-July 1, 10am-5pm
Tuition $250
Explore the versatility of letterpress by pairing traditional and contemporary printing techniques on the Vandercook cylinder press. The first day will explore creating unique patterned color fields with Pressure Printing. This alternative process involves making a low-relief collage to create atmospheric, textural background imagery that is reminiscent of rubbings or monotype ghost prints. The class will finish the prints with hand-set lead and wood type. Learn press set-up, ink mixing, and how to operate the press for both techniques.
