After School Program (1st-5th)
Join Kala’s After School Program today! Our fun and interactive art-making experiences are designed for young artists in 1st-5th grades. At Kala, we nurture curiosity and creativity through the arts. Participants explore a variety of visual art media, techniques, and concepts, and learn about diverse artists, artistic practices, and themes related to personal and community experiences. Our classes encourage young artists to connect, experiment, and dive deep into the creative process.
In our small classes, participants engage in skill-based instruction, hands-on structured projects, and open studio time to explore and experiment. Our instructors are practicing artists, and child whisperers who create a fun, responsive, and supportive studio environment for all young artists to share and celebrate art. Class activities may include visits from guest artists, storytelling, gallery tours, games, movement, and conversational and written reflections to help build an appreciation for art and the role of art(ists) in our community. Sign up to get updates and share class interests!
