About the Instructor:

Krista Wright (she/they) is an artist and educator based in the Bay Area. She has always been passionate about art, and the way it connects us to ourselves and each other. With this passion for creation and community building through art, she earned a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2019, and has worked with various organizations since including; The San Francisco Art Institute Young Artists Program, The Aptos Middle School Beacon Initiative, Balboa High School After School Teen Arts Program, and The Kala Art Institute, to bring art to youth. She has taught and assisted classes in painting, drawing, and printmaking across the bay to kids of all ages for the past 5 years. Her work centers on re-imagining imaginary friends from the past and placing them in the present. In her printmaking work, she creates lore for her creatures; with sculptural work, she brings them into the 3rd dimension; and in her paintings, she places these creatures in everyday scenarios.
