Participants will learn how to create multi-colored prints with the reduction printing method, which uses only one woodblock of the several blocks ordinarily used for color printing. Take advantage of accidental happenings during the preparation of the block, producing prints in a spontaneous, intuitive way that is most suitable for the single-block method.
Tomoko Murakami received an MFA in printmaking from
San Francisco Art Institute. A Kala fellow in 1992, her work embraces
both traditional and contemporary approaches to the art of woodblock printing.
Murakami's work in exhibited internationally.
