Groundswell: a call for entries
Exhibition Opportunity at the Kala Gallery

Groundswell: a broad undulation of the open ocean, often as the result of a distant disturbance, a broadly-based shifting of public opinion.

Kala Gallery thanks the many artists who submitted work for our upcoming Groundswell exhibition. This call for entry application process gave us the opportunity to see a wide range of new and imaginative work by California artists exploring environmental issues.

Kala has been delighted to have Betti-Sue Hertz, Director of Visual Arts at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, serving as our juror for Groundswell. We are pleased to announce Betti-Sue Hertz's selection of artists to be presented in Groundswell:

Groundswell will open to the public on Friday, May 21. The reception for the artists will be on Friday, June 4 from 6:00 8:00 pm. Kala will award one of the Groundswell artists with a complimentary one-month studio residency. The residency award will be presented at the reception.
